A small coffeehouse in the mountains of western North Carolina. Counter Culture beans, careful pours, and a serious tea program — open most mornings from 7am.
A small but considered list of beer, cider, and bottles — drafts up top, then a long pour through American, international, and a deep bench of German and Belgian imports. Selection rotates with the seasons and what's coming in; ask the bar for what's pouring tonight.
Kin Cafe is locally owned and operated on Court Street in downtown Robbinsville, North Carolina. We opened because western North Carolina deserved a serious neighborhood coffeehouse, and we've spent every morning since trying to live up to that.
We pull espresso drinks, brew drip and pour-over, and keep a small but considered tea program. The coffee rotates with the seasons; the tea — black, oolong, green, and herbal — stays put. Our beans come from Counter Culture Coffee, roasted across the state in Durham.
The room has brick walls, leather chesterfields by the woodstove, and a long bar in white subway tile. Most mornings you'll find regulars at the counter, a chess game in the window, and somebody quietly working through a book. Pull up a chair, take your time, and ask about what's new on the menu.
